Pre-NatalFor the mum-to-be
pre natal massage therapy is strongly recommended because of the proven benefits to both the mother and the newborn child.
In the US a 10 year clinical study showed that pre-natal massage therapy can make a big difference in reducing anxiety, relieving muscle aches and joint pains, decreasing the symptoms of depression by regulating hormones and improve labor outcomes and the newborn babies health.
A course of pre-natal Massage Therapy sessions from Arvy can help regulate hormone levels whilst increasing the levels of dopamine and serotonin which significantly reduces stress and can result in fewer complications during birth and reduce the instances of newborn baby complications. The sessions will also help reduce sciatic pain by releasing tension on the associated muscles and it is proven to reduce swelling of the joints by improving circulation and reducing the fluid that collects in swollen joints.
Pre-Natal Massage Therapy is proven to help:
- Reduce back pains
- Reduce stress, anxiety and feelings of depression
- Reduce possible complications with the newborn baby
- Improve circulation
- Reduce joint pains
- Reduce headaches
- Reduce Edema
- Give you a better sleep
With Pre-Natal Massage you need to have a number of sessions, the amount depends on you and what benefits you are looking for. Arvy is qualified and experienced at both Pre-Natal and Post-Natal specialist massage therapy. We strongly advise against using an inexperienced or untrained massage person during your pregnancy.

we all want to get back in shape, but a post-natal massage is not just about getting your body back in shape but more about reducing stress (and the so-called "post natal blues"), improving circulation, improving milk flow and production and relieving swelling which can still take place after giving birth.
Please note, if you had a Cesearian or C-Section birth please do talk to your doctor or midwife about the best time to have a post natal massage session. Although the massage improves blood circulation which speeds up the wound healing process, some massage techniques may be unsuitable until you have healed a little more. Similarly if you experienced blood clots during your pregnancy your doctor may advise you to avoid massage therapy for a while.
Post-Natal massages are a wonderful experience for the new mum and offers a level of relaxation you have probably never experienced since becoming pregnant! So relax, make sure the new baby has someone looking after them and enjoy those essential oils!
